Kerrang! Tour 2010
The thousands of teenagers singing along to Cobra Starship and Lady Gaga in between bands, groups of friends leading each other through the crowd, girls shouting “it’s Gustav!” into their phones as the singer of Young Guns signs for adoring fans; the atmosphere at the Kerrang! Tour 2010 was excited and buzzing, and reminded me of my first gig there at sixteen.
Thankfully, unlike that first time (Finch, March 2003), I didn’t get dropped on my knees whilst crowdsurfing. Probably for the best that is never repeated as I think I chipped a bit of bone off my knee-cap or something… it was very painful, whatever it was. So, steering clear of turning myself into a casualty, I stood at the back and paid more attention to the music than the circle pits. It was great to see four bands worth watching on a line-up and from the screaming, I’m guessing that a lot of people may have found a New Favourite Band or two.
