Slam Dunk North 2010
On Sunday I photographed Slam Dunk North for Rock Sound, which mainly involved lots of running up and down stairs, lots of lens changing and lots of boys in bands.
I did a few behind the scenes photos with Young Guns, a couple of quick portraits with Set Your Goals and live photos of both, along with Rolo Tomassi, Against Me! and Futures.
To finish up the day I watched The Rocket Summer from the side of the stage, which was just amazing. I can’t think of another band like them on the bill and Bryce Avery gave us a such an intimate performance to the point where he played one song right in the middle of the audience.
And then somehow, crowdsurfing happened in the VIP bar at the end of the aftershow. Must have been those £1 drinks…
fun.
“…Tonight we’re witnessing one of those mythical debuts. Handclaps, sing-alongs and even brass help fun. live up to their name, but the best bit is the band’s good natured, warm, open interaction with their assembled fans. Considering the venue isn’t exactly packed, most people are squished to the front by choice and singing every single word. It’s the devotion that comes with knowing you’ve found something special before everyone else…”

Spy Catcher
Just a quick update with outtakes from the set of photos I did on Spy Catcher for Rock Sound’s website. Please click through and have a look at the final set while I tuck myself into bed to avoid holding my eyelids open with matchsticks, Loony Toons style.
